My bf & I live in Copperas Cove,TX & wanna take a mini vacation around here for 3day. Know any good beaches?
The question is just as asked. We don't want to spend a whole lot of money or travel too far. I was thinking about Corpus Christi or another beach. I have already been to San Antonio and Austin too many times. Anyone have any suggestions?

I just got back from Port Aransas about 20 minutes from Corpus Christi. Loved it. I would definately recommend it. Galveston was pretty cool too, but I liked Corpus better.

I will be traveling to Washington DCA in April?
I will depart from Corpus Christi, TX switch planes in Houston, TX (where I have 45 minutes) and finally arrive at my destination. This is my first time flying and just need some peace at mind. In Houston will 45 minutes be enough time to switch planes? When I arrive in Washington I will be picked up, How many levels are at this airport? Which way do I follow? I will be arriving at Regan (National)

1. Yes, 45 min. is BARELY enough time, so don't fart around. Get to your gate right away. 2. You didn't specify if you're landing at Regan (National) or Dulles airport.
2 :
There is only one level in DCA (Reagan National), and it's small airport, because its the closest airport to the city center. Yes, 45 minutes is more than enough time. You check your baggage all the way to your final destination so you just disembark one plane, find your new gate, and get on the other one.

She can take a SENDA bus from Mc Allan , Tx to Mexico City for 946 pesos...$73.33 usd. In Mc Allan, there are many buses of different lines leaving all during the day for Mexico City. Fares are almost identical on all of them. I like the Senda line best, but others are fine too. She would need to take a Greyhound to Mc Allan. the cheapest fare is $22.00. In Mexico City she would be able to get a bus to Acapulco, but I cannot find a bus line with a working website that gives specifics. Maybe someone more familiar with that part of the trip can give you that info.

Can somebody tell me if there are any border checkpoints you have to go thru on your way back from Mission Tx?
I will be traveling down to Mission Texas to do some work for my company and I have never been down there before. I am unfamiliar with this area, and me and my coworkers were wondering if we have to go thru a border patrol checkpoint leaving Mission Texas heading to Corpus Christi and Padre Island? I sure would appreciate any info anybody could give me.

I live in Texas, and the only border checkpoints are on the border, as far as I know. If I can remember , mission is not a border town, and, as populated as Corpus is, I would not anticipate it. I would not worry about checkpoints, unless youe business here is illegal, And with that, Texas has an extensive Highway partol operation, so checkpoints, should not be your main concern. I am not sure why you would be asking this, unless you are concerned with your legalization. The border checkpoints are there to attempt to keep people from entering the U.S illegally, so unless this applies to you or youe co workers, I would not worry.
2 :
Watch it if you are doing something illegal, it will look suspicious to the police.
3 :
There is a secondary checkpoint on US 281 a little south of Falfurrias where they have all vehicle stop for a quick check on people's ID. Trucks & buses have more extensive checks. I passed through there many times on my way back to Houston from visiting in McAllen. I agree with King Trey, as long as you have your valid driver licenses for you & your co-workers, there should be nothing to worry about.

Advice on where to travel between four locations in the United States?
I am able to go on vacation in September. I have four locations I would like to visit, but am having problems deciding because of the different expenses associated with each location. 1) Texas- San Antonio, Houston, Corpus Christi are the three locations I would like to visit if I vacation in the state. I would be driving because I live in Missouri. I am looking at cost for hotels, gas, food, activities such as Sea World, and car rental. 2) California- San Diego I would fly here. I am looking at the other costs. 3) Florida- Orlando I would fly here also, I am also looking at other costs. 4) Hawaii- Honolulu I would fly here also, I am also looking at other costs. I have looked at these locations myself and been to all of them, but it has been a long time. I am looking for the pros and con's to each area. My Friend and I our going, so I am trying to get some good info before I present the cost to each place. Thank you for you help.

PATTERN SAN BLAS: The central celebrations begin on January 2 with the evening, in which the pattern is removed the door to preside over the evening celebration. It is celebrated with fireworks, dances and dance by the band of musicians. The next day a liturgical celebration is held at 11 am and 30 am, so that later the picture comes on the shoulder of the brotherhood in procession through the square of San Blas hill Limacpampa reaching large, then the culture to Jiron Chihuampata retirement after reaching up to the square. And the pace of "sanbleña"get to the temple court, for San Blas on his blessing to the Catholic people gathered in the square. And be saved until Wednesday 22 June, which will again heading to Santa Clara to celebrate Corpus Christi. To go to San Blas in the car would have to taxi, the vans will make it very far. On foot (even sacrificed) is less than 20 minutes from downtown. www.jungletour-peru.com

On your Cuzco Peru city tour, you will visit the Cathedral, Q’oricancha, Sacsayhuaman, Q’enqo, Pukapukara and Tambomachay And San Blas. We begin this excursion at the Plaza de Armas. In Inca times the plaza, called Huacaypata or Aucaypata, was twice as large as it is today. On the northeastern side is the Cathedral. Construction started in 1559 and took almost a hundred years. It is one of the greatest repositories of colonial art. http://www.kintuexpeditions.com

Inca Trail to Machu Picchu The Inca Trail is by far the most famous trek in South America and is rated by many to be in the top 5 treks in the world. In just 26 miles (45km) it manages to combine beautiful mountain scenery, lush cloud-forest, and subtropical jungle and, of course, a stunning mix of Inca paving stones ruins and tunnels. The final destination of the trail just cannot be beaten: Machu Picchu, the mysterious "Lost City of the Incas". http://www.sunsetperulimited.com

Choose the "multi-destination" option, you can choose multiple destinations and they would give you several choices to choose from.
3 :
While computer reservations systems like Travelocity and Orbitz are convenient to use, they sometimes don't have all the information, and on long or complicated flights, I much prefer actually talking to a real human being, so I can ask questions and get (hopefully) straight answers. It might be better to call the airline's ticket agent to book your multi-leg flight. That way you can get all the current info and make sure the connecting flights you want to catch have not been canceled or rescheduled on the day you want to fly.

What parts of Texas are still flooded?
I need to know what areas between Del Rio and Corpus Christi are still flooded. My fiance was in TX working and traveling between the two cities on June 28. He has been missing ever since. Authorities have been notified and family and others have been searching everywhere with no luck. We feel sure he is alive, as we have gotten sort of random 1/2-rings and a piece of a text message from his cell phone. None of us have ever been to TX and it is so huge. What I really need to know is what places have been flooded all this time. I know there are open routes between the two cities now, but what areas are still not passable?

The flooding has only been in areas with creeks, rivers, lakes, and poor drainage, and mostly in north Texas. All flooding was on a local level, so nothing was impassable, except for maybe short periods of time during the worst of the rain storms. Del Rio and Corpus Christi are almost 300 miles apart, and not anywhere near the worst of the flooding. There was never flooding in either place, unless the Rio Grande or the Gulf of Mexico overflowed, both very unlikely. I don't know what hype you've heard, but you are blowing it way out of proportion. People died from the flooding when they got stupid and either were walking near drainage sluices or driving through creek overflows. It was NOT like what happened to the residents of New Orleans in 2005 after hurricane Katrina. Not even close. There's probably a good reason why you haven't heard from him, but being a flood victim is probably not it.

My fiance was traveling for work between Del Rio and Corpus Christi on June 28. He has been missing ever since. We feel he must have gotten stranded somewhere with the flooding. Authorities and family have been searching everywhere, but no luck so far. We feel sure he is alive somewhere, as we have received some calls from his cell (only a few seconds-not long enough for Alltel to help). None of us has ever been to TX. So, what we need to know is where else to look where there is still flooding and people may be stranded. Please help!

Guadalupe county has been under water too, the same situation as Medina county. He may have been stranded there somewhere. You are already on Yahoo so go to maps and ask for a map from CC to Rock Springs. There isn't a quick route with lots of rest stops. You will have about 650 miles just to get out of Texas. Go through San Antonio to up to Aveline, then to Childress. Hit 287 and go to Amarillo. Plan on spending the night there because once you leave Amarillo there isn't a decent place to stay until you get to Raton, N.M. From Amarillo go to Dumas then to dalhart and Clayton N. M. . At Clayton you will cut north again to Raton, Trinidad, up to Denver. From Denver to Casper Wy. then west to Rock Springs. From Denver to Casper not many stops and from Casper to RS nothing. Trip with the kids, stopping to eat etc. will take 30 + Hrs. about 1500 miles. Drive careful, be sure to stop when feeling tired. Hwy from San Antonio to Raton is almost all 2 lane so be careful.

I grew up in Rock Springs! That's weird... and why would you want to move there?? lol I think there are about 15,000 people in the whole town. I-80 goes right through Rock Springs, and you will have to take 25 to get to 80 from TX. There are a lot of long stretches between cities on 80, so there are lots of rest stops along the way.

A relative told me him and his wife were traveling to Corpus Christi from McAllen Texas and saw a LARGE meteor shower at almost 5 in the morning. He said that when they stopped at a truck stop everyone was talking about it. Supposedly the rocks were quite large and I wanted to know if anyone could back up this story. If someone had footage that would be nice too. I don't mean UFOs just falling flaming space rocks. SERIOUSLY I don't want to know about ufos.

Damn.... I literally went to bed at 4:50, and I was in Texas! However, I heard nothing about it when I woke up, though I was not in-between McAllen and Corpus Christi (just north, actually). It doesn't seem like anything special was reported.

Ok I'm from Texas. But I didn't see anything, but my friend mentioned this to me! I'm pretty sure just a meteor shower and not aliens like these ppl above seem to believe lol. D

I don't see why not...just be prepared to stop for feedings and changings, etc.

She can travel at birth. It wont harm her. My parents move a lot when i was a newborn. our friends moved here from 700 miles away with a 2 week old, and then back again when the baby was 4 months.

I traveled across the US with my 1 month old. It was easy cause she slept the whole time! Gotta love the newborn stage!

People travel with babies younger than yours.

2 weeks ago, she should be fine as long as you dont leave her in your parked car while you party for new years...

I DONT SEE A THING WRONG WITH TAKING A TRIP WITH YOUR LITTLE BUNDLE AS LONG AS SHE IS WITH MOM AND SHES DRESSED RIGHT WHAT COULD IT HURT ?
7 :
She will be fine. Don't know if you will be, so good luck!!
8 :
of course you can take her!

I drove 19 hours with my son when he was three weeks old. My dad was also a truck driver and my first trip was 8 hours when I was 2 weeks old. It will not hurt a baby to travel with them. YOu do need to allow time for changings and feedings and if the baby is at all like mine then it will sleep as long as the vehicle is moving. Good Luck.
